A new song inspired by Christy Soulliere’s life story – being an addict, recovering and then losing her son to addiction. This song is meant to bring hope and peace to anyone else who might be walking this journey. You are not alone.

WHY WE STARTED AUSTIN'S RED SHOE PROJECT

Austin was a charismatic kind caring compassionate young man who inspired to go back to school and help those in need. Auzzie, as he was commonly called by his mom, had a vision to inspire, encourage and mentor others with similar conflicts and battles he had encountered himself. He aspired to be a part of a community that cares deeply for those suffering from mental health, drug or alcohol addictions and homelessness. This was his passion.

After being out of town for many years in his 20s we were all so overjoyed to have him move back home in September of last year. His return home was too short as he was called to heaven at the young age of 27 years old November 9th 2022. The devastation and heart ache of losing Austin is simply indescribable. Our sorrow and suffering is so unbearable some days to the point we question how we go on without him?

Austin’s Red Shoe Project is how we continue living without him. We honor him by following thru with his hopes and his mission to help those incapable of helping themselves.

Overdose Awareness needs to have a spotlight put on it. We are losing too many young people to this horrible disease. My son was one of them

On my behalf (Auzzie’s mom), my family, extended family, friends I thank you in advance for participating in the future success of this essential vital need for this charity

Let’s “Lace Up” and make this happen!

About Us

Founded in 2023, Austin’s Red Shoe Project is a non-profit that offers support to the still struggling addict, to the families and loved ones who have lost someone to addiction and to the homeless. We provide meals, emergency clothing, blankets, first aid and hygiene kits. Our hope is to deepen the understanding of drug and alcohol misuse by exlporing the impact that addictions have in individuals, families, and communities. We support advocacy that pushes through legislation regarding addiction, the improvement of treatment facilities and access to these services.  Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Hope Is Where the Heart Is.

Ways We Can Help

The Focus of Our Efforts

FEEDING WINDSOR INITIATIVE

Through our Feeding Windsor Initiative, we have the opportunity to create real change in our community by offering support to those who are in need the most. We deliver hot meals and everyday essentials to those who find themselves living on the streets. We do this with compassion, love, and respect. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Austin’s Red Shoe Project.

AWARENESS INITIATIVE

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and our Awareness Initiative helps Austin’s Red Shoe Project ensure that those we serve are better prepared to persevere in the unique situations they find themselves in by providing prevention strategies, awareness of the adverse effects of alcohol and drugs, and the resources available if they need help.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Austin’s Red Shoe Project is dedicated to putting our Windsor, Ontario community first. Our Community Outreach program provides a much-needed service for those in dire need. Lend a helping hand and join our efforts today.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

Austin’s Red Shoe Project has a long term goal of providing transitional housing that is both a supportive-and temporary type of accommodation that is meant to bridge the gap from homelessness to drug and alcohol treatment center by offering structure, supervision, and support for addictions.
